Culture notes

We know this place

Brixton isn’t a postcode to us — it’s home turf. That local knowledge is why moving day runs clean.

The sound

From the Academy to the record shops on Atlantic Road — Brixton runs on music, and so do we. Studios and vinyl are our favourite loads.

The market

Electric Avenue, the arcades, the food. We know the streets, the loading quirks and the CPZs because we work them every week.

The mix

Brixton has never stood still — Caribbean, African, Portuguese, and every wave of new arrivals since. We move all of it, with respect.

Why us

Not your average movers

There are plenty of firms who’ll shift your boxes and forget your name. We’re not that. We’re a Brixton crew who treat a move like it means something — the first place that’s finally yours, the leap abroad you’ve been building up to, the studio you’ve poured years into.

That means honest advice over the hard sell — a part-load when a whole van’s overkill, a straight steer on what to ship and what to leave. It means knowing the CPZs and the walk-ups and the canal-house hoists before we turn up. And it means your records arrive in order and your synths arrive working. Sorted, with a bit of soul.

Word of mouth

Brixton, in their words

“Moved my whole home studio from a Coldharbour Lane flat to Neukölln — decks, a wall of vinyl, two synths I’d sell an organ before losing. Every record turned up in order. These are the only movers I’d trust with the gear again.”
Dexter Brixton → Berlin (Neukölln)
“The Amsterdam flat needed everything hoisted up through the front window — proper terrifying to watch, completely calm for them. They’d clocked it before they even left London. Absolute pros, and a laugh with it.”
Nadia & Sam Herne Hill → Amsterdam
“First proper place of my own after years of flat-shares. Tight budget, fifth floor, no lift, and they didn’t make me feel small about any of it. Part-load kept it affordable and nothing got a scratch. Buzzing.”
Leah Stockwell → Brixton Hill

Before you ask

Are you actually a Brixton firm?

Brixton is our home turf and our departure hub. We collect right across the area — Brixton Hill, Loughborough Junction, Coldharbour Lane, Herne Hill, Tulse Hill, Stockwell — and out across south London. We know the CPZs, the walk-ups and the tight Victorian conversions, because we move people out of them every week.

What is The Creative Corridor?

It’s our specialism: the moves Brixton makes to Europe’s creative capitals — Berlin, Amsterdam, Dublin and Copenhagen. Those four routes we know inside out, from Berlin’s lift-free Altbau stairs to Amsterdam’s canal-house hoists. It’s not our limit, though — we move across the rest of Europe and the UK too.

Can you move me somewhere that isn’t on the Corridor?

Course. The Creative Corridor names the routes we specialise in, but we run the wider European corridor and UK-wide moves as well. Tell us where you’re headed and we’ll scope it properly.

I’m moving a home studio — records, synths, instruments. Safe with you?

That’s our favourite kind of move. We pack vinyl, instruments, synths and studio gear with proper materials and care, and crate anything fragile or precious. Flag the irreplaceable stuff up front — the vintage synth, the master tapes, the finished canvases — and it gets the treatment it deserves.

How does an international move actually work?

Your stuff travels overland — through the Channel and across Europe — either in a dedicated van or as a shared part-load. Island and sea routes like Ireland add a ferry leg we book to line up with the van, so it all lands as one job. Since Brexit there’s customs paperwork too, which we prepare ahead of departure so nothing gets stuck at a border.
